Simply get their name and number and contact our office. 3. What if an account was turned over to a collection agency? Provide us the collection agency information and we will contact them for you. 4. What is a creditor filed a lawsuit against me? Provide us the details so we can list them in your bankruptcy or contact them after filing. 5. I forgot to list a creditor - what can I do? We can amend your petition after filing and list any omitted creditor. There is a small fee to amend a petition. 6. What if I move after my case is filed? Contact the office so we can file a change of address on your behalf. 7. How long does a bankruptcy stay on my credit report? 7 to 10 years. 8. I am in a Chapter 13 and I have a temporary situation where I can't make the plan payments. What can I do? You can modify the terms of your plan to suspend or make up missing payments. 9. I am in a Chapter 13 and I can not pay my mortgage any longer. Call the office immediately so we can discuss all your legal options. 10. What happens if I cannot make my plan or mortgage payment before my Chapter 13 case is confirmed? Your case will be dismissed but in most situations the petition can be re-filed. 11.
